Alcohol (cooling --> heating = expanding volume?) or 'Am I Going to Have a Mess?'

Stupid question...
I normally keep my booze in the fridge but my parents are coming over today. So, I took everything out and stashed it in trash bags under my bed. I'm talking ~25 bottles not counting beer.
Now, I'm wondering As the alcohol heats up, are those bottles going to explode or otherwise soak my carpet? 😀


And yes, I'm 21.. but I'd like to spare my mother the grief of seeing all that booze. 😉


EDIT: I'm just thinking about those alcohol thermometers where the liquid expands as it gets hotter. These will be going from normal fridge temp to about 85 degrees (my normal apartment temp.)

I don't think you ahve to worry in room temperature.

I keep several bottles at room temperature and I have no problems 🙂

Why is this? Wait for it...

You are 21, you should be able to do what you want to do without having to worry about what your parents think. I don't see why you would want to hide stuff from your parents when you are out of their house myself. If they ask tell them that you like to have a stock of liquor and say, "Don't worry, I'm not an alcoholic".

Taking it out of the fridge and letting it come to room temperature with the plans to recool it will only make it taste like crap. If it is a must to remove from the frige, store it in a cooler.
