what else is there that will work as good?

or how do i install it? it says it needs to restart to install and then just keeps restarting.

i just need something that can mount .iso's in a virtual drive.

I am using Magic ISO and Power ISO both of which work. I couldn't get Virtual Clone Drive to work, although I have read people recommend it in other forums as well, so I guess it is just me.

I've heard some pretty weighty allegations against Magic Disc for either stealing code from other programs or some other violation of copyrighted material.

I've used Lite also with W7 (after I paid good money for Pro Advanced... come on guys, get off your asses) and even though it seemed to work, I got constant sobbing from my OS about 'known incompatibility'.

I used Daemon Tools Lite (latest version which is from April or so) on Win7 RC 64 bit and it worked fine. I can't get the darned thing to install properly on Win7 RTM 64 bit. I'm gonna have to give one of the other programs a go.

I just switched to this (used to use Daemon Tools) as well...however I'm only on 32-bit. But their site says it supports Vista-64 though...might as well give it a shot since its free.

i've personally stayed away from daemon tools ever since they tried to push toolbars and stuff w/ their installs. alcohol 52% has gone that way too, but windows 7 complains about compatibility issues when i try to install alcohol. they don't try to install crapware on my computer either.

magicdisk has been working very well for me so far and i like the interface

64 bit version or 32 bit? Cause the 64 bit version is what I'm and it's giving me problems.

64bit. I got the compatibility issues dialog, but I installed it anyway.

I mounted a few iso's without a problem so far.
