Alcatel Speedtouch USB DSL modem in Linux?

Does anybody know if this modem has drivers or is even supported in linux in any way yet? If not I might buy myself a 3com external ethernet modem or something (which is what I wanted in the first place... damn Bellsouth wouldn't let you self install a ethernet modem)

The only thing I saw there that MIGHT work is this: USB Modem Support
I'm thinking that maybe all I would have to do is type in:
mknod /dev/usb/ttyACM0 c 166 0
And then run the draknet program or PPP or something and look for that device in the list? I did a full install of Mandrake 7.2 & 100% of its packages so I should have everything installed and hopefully won't have to rebuild the kernel or anything heh...
