Just did this at Albuts here in Spokane. They even gave me an addressed STAMPED envelope to return the rebate in!

Only downside is the UPCs have to be returned ... no problem on the soda but means you have to eat the chips.

People, don't reward rebates at the grocery store. Next thing you know you will be having to fill out 50 rebate forms to buy your weeks groceries.

Hmmm. But I've been seeing rebate offers in grocery coupons and ads for quite awhile. In this case, the price on the pop is about as good as you can find (in my area) and the price on the chips is OK (better if you get the Lays at $1.50 instead of the Doritos.) So we're not looking at a situation where the price is only good with the rebate...instead we're looking at a good deal that has a rebate on top of it. The latter is exactly what I, as a consumer, want to see.

I think he means he has to open the chips right away to cut the upc off the bag, and 4 bags of chips are a lot to eat!

I was going to suggest the same thing. My wife already picked up the stuff. I'll have to fill out the rebates and "patch" the bags this weekend.

Although you don't have to buy chips to get the rebate. You can buy dips or salsa instead if 4 bags of chips is more than you can handle. I just got cheetos, Tostitos bite size, french onion dip and salsa con queso.
