Does this thing really perform better and have better overclockability than the normal 4200? I see the price on this thing is pretty good and was just wondering if anyone has it and can confirm it's performance?

Sweet cards in my opinion. Quality is on par with everyone else, and such a good deal. I think Albatron will make a name for themselves. As far as performance, the their standard Ti4200 cards perform like all others. They follow reference design, and use the same memory on their 64MB and 128MB cards as others.

They do have a nice heatsink design, but overclocks are average. The "Turbo" model is the one you may have heard about. It's got a copper heatsink, and 3.3ns memory. O/C's are very good according to reviews. Here's a couple links. Look at that sweet 128MB version, $154.00 shipped on newegg:

Sweet looking 128MB Ti4200 card!

Albatron Ti4200 Turbo, nice!

Steel, I believe he is talking about the TURBO version, with the bad @ss heatsink, and 6-layer pcb instead of 4-layer. I've seen some reviews floating around, and I haven't found one yet that would oc above default ti-4600 speeds. and I think these are going for something like $175-180, about $100 cheaper than the 4600.
I've been eyeballing one myself. :p

I'm selling my MSI Geforce 3 TI200 128mb to my friend within the next month and I'm looking for a cheap upgrade, so far it looks as if I'm going with this card, unless anyone can suggest better for the price?

Yea, I have seen alot of reviews of it. How much is it? Well it is $185 on www.newegg.com and Albatron's Ti4600 is only $230. So, I guess you could get it. However, think a second. You can overclock the Turbo Ti4200 to a Ti4600, however how far can you overclock a Ti4600?

Yea, I guess if I had read the title, I'd have seen he was talking about the turbo version.

To answer your question Tabb, here are my results with the Ti4600:

Albatron Ti4600, with Thermaltake copper cooler and ramsinks, clocking to 320/730. I did push it to 335/760 for a good two hours of gameplay with no lockups though. Great memory on the 4600's, though core is nearly maxed by design.

Why buy a albatron turbo ti4200 when u can get the ti4400 for about the same price. Both have 3.3ns ram.

Okay, finally got it no thanks to *%()#$# Fedex, don't ask! Anyway, running @ 305x690 perfectly stable so far. Get about 12,300 3dmarks2000se on my system. Tried 310x710 and got lockups in 3dmarks, will try some fine tuning/overclocking mhz by mhz later to see exactly what it's max is. Overall pretty happy, they just raised the price to $199 at newegg fyi. Comes with Serious Sam First Edition(still a great game if you have never played it), Moto Mania, and WinDVD, S-Video cable, composite video cable, WinDVD, and DVI-VGA adapter for dual monitors.

Anyone know of other Ti 4200's that use 3.3ns RAM but cost quite a bit less than the Albatron 4200 Turbo?
Does the 8 layer PCB and neat HSF really make that much of a difference for the price?

seems a good deal, despite OC'ing isn't guaranteed. You will have the tools to succeed.

I am an ATI guy :)

I don't think anyother vender has ventured away from nvidia's reference design, It cost's a good bit to redesign a board when you already have a good thing going. That doesn't mean that some vendors won't try to copy Albatron's designs though.

Well, basically I would say 4600 speeds are pretty much a given with this particular card and any decent case cooling. However, if $41 bucks difference between a probable thing by overclocking and a sure thing for $41 bucks more then get the 4600. The core on this one I can say is maxxed at 305, 310 if your really really lucky. The memory is pretty much a given to hit 690, might be higher unfortunately the 40.72 drivers(which I am running now) are maxxed at 690 and won't let any other app work with them, arrrrrghhhhhh@!(nobody here seems to have a solution yet!).
