You should get the 4200, it should outperform the 5200ultra in practically all benchmarks, even with aa/af. Once or twice have the 5200ultra beat the 4200 when aa/af is turned on.

Also will agree with going with the Ti4200. Only thing worth mentioning on the side is Albatron has a 1-3 year warranty, and PNY offers a lifetime warranty. Then again, most video cards are upgraded by then. :D

The Ti4200 is way faster than the FX5200, especially in FSAA. The FX5200 only meets the performance of a standard GF3.
The DX9 support of the FX is ignorable, the DX9 games will surely need better hardware.

I have the Albatron ti4200p card. It hasn't let me down. All games run 1280x1024x32 with high details (no extra eye candy like aa or af). I paid $153 so for $90 that's a good deal!

I'm able to clock at 315/600 some games work and some don't. Everything stable at 290/580.

Me Vote for ti4200,
-JC

FYI:
LIFETIME WARRANTY doesn't mean your lifetime. This means the lifetime of the product. Meaning if the product is no longer in production or able to be purchased on the store shelf then it's no longer under warranty. Meaning it's life is up!

As if you need any more help, definetly the ti4200. My dad's 5200 REGULAR, in my experience, can't handle Splinter Cell in ANY way, but my ti4400 handles it @ 1280x1024 with max details.

Yes, and no. The first number designates the generation, while the second number designates the expected performance of the card. Marketing misuses the designation ...

In the case of GF4 vs FX:

If first number = 4, then DX8 card (though not entirely true for the GF4 MX line)
If first number = 5, then DX9 card

If second number is low (2), then lowest performance (for it's generation)
If second number is mid (4), then mid-range performance
If second number is high (6, 8, 9), then high performance

As for direct comparisons,

FX5200 = GF3 Ti200 < GF4 Ti4200
FX5600 < GF4 Ti4600 < FX5900
