Is there a known issue with the bios temp monitor being way off?

Its showing my cpu at cold bootup 54c and my ambient temp 39c

Room is 20c and I applied as5 on the cpu and everything is properlly installed.

p4 @ 3.0 not overclocked =(

For comparison on my p4c800-e deluxe with a 2.8 p4 and as5 the asus temp monitor shows it at 21 ambient and 33 cpu

I had the same problem with the 845pe board. Apparantly, this is a bios issue that can't be easily fixed by albatron. I tried a bios flash, but it didn't make any difference. Mobo monitor 5 gave me the same readings. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it as long as the system is stable. I even sent this newegg refurb back to albatron, and they replaced it in about 10 days. But the new board gave me the same readings, but it was stable, so don't worry too much. The 3.0 runs pretty warm anyway. I use the 2.4b, and my readings were even higher than yours.

Everythings stable just seemed about 20c too high, especially since i know there's no way its 39c in my case when i first boot up =p
