For those of you that have this board, bios update. For me, it helped a little bit but not enough to increase my normal speed. One of you gurus may be able to do more with it though. Post how well it works for you!

Grr, I just flashed to the 1.07 last night to clear up a mem problem I was having. Flash wen't fine but it somehow screwed up windows so bad I couldn't get past the splash screen. Ended up having to reformat. Fat freaking chance I'm doing that again.

Reflashing the BIOS changes the basic way windows interfaces into the hardware or something. So when it attempts to load all those devices at bootup it will restart since the BIOS has changed. Something to do with device addresses being changed.

Where have you seen the 1.10 bios? I might try that.

With the 1.09, I might be able to get to 2.73GHz stable instead of 2.70GHz. My ram (XMS 2700) is holding me back slightly, but I'm pretty certain that my usb dsl modem is what's causing the big stability problems. I might unhook it tonight & see if I can up my speed a bit, but the increase is nominal & not really worth the trouble.

Thanks oldfart! I see there's been a lot of discussion, etc. about this board lately. I've been absent from any oc forums in the last 5-6 months, so it looks like I've got some reading up to do in regard to pushing it further.

You picked a great board! I just replaced mine with an Abit IC7 to do the DC DDR thing and get ready for a P4 "C" CPU. The Albatron is going to a friend.

Wow, I've missed a lot! The last I head read several months ago was that no one had found a mod to make a 100FSB CPU think its a 133FSB CPU. Looks like that's been discovered though :)

I plan to keep this board for awhile. I'll get a HT chip this Summer (or whenever the price drops below $200), then go for the big upgrade next Spring/Summer & change everything out.

Well, I guess I'll have to try this out after all. After doing some testing with it the 1.07 seems less stable than the stock bios. An overnight run of memtest found 4 errors at speeds slower than ones that returned zero errors with the stock bios. Poo :(

Hmm, upgrading to 1.09 BIOS from 1.08 BIOS seems to have corrected a problem with the AGP/PCI lock on my mobo. Now it seems to correctly perform locking. Also got about 5Mhz extra overclock from 155 FSB to 160 FSB with my 2.4. I'll take the "free" performance thank you :)
