ok. so i was all happy about getting my Albatron KX18D Pro II. I had read some great reviews, and got a great deal on the board.

install it with my Mobile Barton 2400+ and new 250gb SATA hard drive. rockin.

boot it and throw the Barton up to 2ghz (10x200). Memory goes to Turbo/ by SPD. still rockin.

Install my slipstreamed WinXP Pro with SP2. still rockin.

Install latest nForce drivers and reboot, install ATI drivers and reboot, install MBM5 and reboot. rockin hardcore.

Begin installing general software. Trillian first so I can chat while the other installs go. no problems here, temps look good in my systray. Rockin to the max.

and then...screen goes black, computer shuts off. me = WTF? pressing the power button kicks on the fans and lights for a microsecond. holding the powerbutton has this repeating itself. try clear cmos jumper. no luck. try second bios. no joy. try any and all dip/jumper settings on the board. nothing. tried two other Socket A procs (known good duron800 and XP1600+). Tried alternate vid card. tried alternate ram. tried alternate power supply. tried dancing in circles and sacrificing a squirrell to Jobu'

needless to say, this goes back to Newegg. but wtf happened? to me it seems that a capacitor or something might have failed. another thing i know is that if it took out the Barton with it i will be pissed...cause i cant check that barton til i get a board back.

any clues here?

Have you tried booting up with only the video card, cpu, and memory installed or maybe a sacrifice to our lord and savior Jebus?
