Albany, NY Mall Shooting

Calm down. I was just commenting on how the media is making this seem like it was some huge mass shooting, you know the typical ones where one or more guys go in with machine guns and just plow down a whole bunch of people. Was on TV most of the day and sounded pretty serious. Then I found out in here that it was just two thugs having an argument and not a standard run of the mill mass shooting so just commented that it was not as bad as I initially thought.

If a good friend texts you and says he just called 911 because he saw someone walk into the mall wearing some sort of Kevlar, carrying a firearm.... You may or may not be concerned. For me, I was. I have family and friends in the area. I was actually surprised to see how many people were there (via Facebook) that I knew. I haven't been to a mall in years, but I guess people still do them?

Anytime there is an active shooting, the details aren't out instantly. In this case, I had the news before the news had the news. I had no idea what the hell was going on. I know there are members here in the upstate NY area. Sorry if this was not your "standard run of the mill shooting." Carry on.

This wasn't an incident of deranged shooter goes into a mall with a gun and kills random people. It was two guys who didn't like each other, pulled out the guns they always carry in their saggy pants and took a couple of shots at each other. That isn't just a daily occurrence. It happens dozens of times a day across this country. That's why it barely made the national news.

Saggy pants? Was that detail necessary? Or is that the polite way to say the N word?

Two men detained after the shooting were later released, according to WNYT-TV. A photo surfaced on social media showing authorities escorting two men in handcuffs through the mall parking lot.

Yeah sorry was not actually referring to your OP but the actual news on TV that day, since it's been all over the news so originally it sounded like a mass shooting then found out here it was just a fight between two thugs - basically an isolated incident - and commented that the news was making it sound like it was a mass shooting. Then it kinda blew up so probably should have just not commented.

Still wondering that this was "all over the news." This happened on Saturday and I didn't even hear about it until middle of Sunday afternoon....when I saw this thread.
