Alaskan Cruise

I am looking into going on a cruise to Alaska in late August... Probably leave from Seattle. Anyone have any suggestions on which cruise line, or which destinations are the best?

Been to Alaska twice on cruises, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. (and I have been on a Princess cruise to the southern Caribbean) The cruise line depends on interests, age, budget.
We left once from Alaska and once from Vancouver. I liked them both a lot. How old are you? Are you traveling alone, couple, family? What are you looking to get out of your cruise?

Well, my fiancee and I were looking into it as a possible honeymoon. We are 24.

She wants to avoid the caribbean as that is hight hurricane season.

I went on the Alaskan Holland America cruise awhile back - it was, simply put, awesome. I highly recommend it. Also, Holland America cruises would be perfect for a honeymoon (from what I've seen of their cruises) - it's not like a Carnival cruise (completely different target age range)

I went on Royal Carabbean 2 years ago, we went in August on the Vision of the Seas with 45, yeah 45 family friends, it was one of the best vacations I ever went on, second only to my 3 weeks in europe with the same 45 people, but yeah we went on a 5 day from vancouver up to alaska and back to vancouver....i'd recommend it, pm if u wanna know more

I could mention a few cruise lines that I think are worthwhile, but I worked for Holland American aboard the Westerdam for a couple of contract periods in the orchestra during Alaskan cruise season, and at that time considered them top notch. The quality of food and service were above average for passenger and staff alike.

Apart from checking current reviews they'd be my first recommendation!
