For those of you that live in Alaska and Hawaii, possibly this also affects Puerto Rico too. I noticed a few months ago that on NewEgg if you live in the Continental USA, they offer U.S. Postal Priority Mail shipping.

Ok so here's the kicker, NewEgg has a contract with the post office that they come and pick up the packages for delivery, NewEgg doesn't have to go to the Post Office and make special trips to make their deliveries.

So my thinking was, well if this is true, then what is the big deal with adding in these other states and offering them U.S. Postal Priority Mail shipping? After all Alaska and Hawaii are America and these states do have U.S. Postal Priority Mail shipping and since they offer it all through out the Continental USA, then why not the other two states?

Well I spoke personally with someone at management at NewEgg that is looking into this, they seemed to think this didn't make sense that NewEgg wasn't offering this.

So if you live in Alaska, Hawaii and possibly this might affect Puerto Rico too and you're tired of paying FedEX UPS rates, then you should contact them too.

P.S. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico please let us know what you hear, also please keep this bumped so others can read, hopefully in time they'll change it, SPREAD THE WORD!

I hate this...priority mail is cheap and the flat rate stuff is flat rate across the US! I hate that they (and many places) wont ship priority to Hawaii. Ruins the online deals most of the time (nothing like a $2 product costing $18 to ship)...

I feel your pain. I lived in Guam for ~7 years, and really couldn't get anything unless it was shipped USPS.

Had a 40# box to ship to myself one time. Called the post office, it would have cost me (at that time) $44 to ship priority (~7 days) or $27 to ship parcel post (~60 days).

Called UPS, asked them for their rates........$175!!!

I used to live in AK, and FedEx 3rd day always got to me on the 3rd day.

Now I can just about hit Newegg with a rock and UPS 3rd day is always 4 day delivery.

That's weird with Newegg if you live in SoCal. I often get stuff less than 48 hours after I order it. Now, if it's that free saver shipping (aka snail post) then yes, it takes a few days.
