Think about where most of the US refineries are for a minute.
There's no need to think about it, as said above; they can't eat gas. That and refineries burn real nicely if we have to bomb Redneckistan.

Since this is a people issue, and not a road thing. Deny the state SSI, food stamp, WIC, and police grants.
Will not that hurt scores of the very people who support the additional Black voting district?

States pass the money around like chips in a poker game. The feds can make direct payments to the people (in the spirit of PPP loans, Covid, Stimulus), bypassing the state (and their cut they take in "administrative fees"). The state will feel the pinch and get their shit together.

I don't tweet much and I can't find the original tweet. Can somebody link to the actual tweet by Mike Davis instead of linking the screenshot of it?
All you gotta do is touch the name listed as the writer. So, just touch Mike Davis’ name within one of the tweets above and you’ll be taken to the orig

It finally happened. Let's hope. I bet Republicans try more dirty tricks like closing multiple polling places in these districts. Changing voting hours, enact new laws that will disproportionately effect these districts.

Imagine having to celebrate shit that was supposed to happen anyway. The Republican disenfranchisement of the black vote by Republicans will continue around the country.

The Republicans have been fine tuning the art of voter suppression in all of it's various disingenuous manifestations along with all of the skullduggery that goes with it for decades and apparently it's the only thing they exist for. It's class warfare against the middle class at it's finest. The powers that be have even managed to have the working class folks of their party conditioned and trained to consistently vote against their own best interests. You got'ta hand it to these big monied interests that fling billions of their overseas stashes of cash into this war without so much as a yawn.

Another racist gerrymandered district Alito is trying to save. Those people will never stop until they can disenfranchise every black person possible. Hopefully those goes the way of Alabama but I'm sure Republicans will once again try to stall.

It still boggles the mind that 4 out of 5 justices voted to disenfranchise voters.
It boggles the mind that 1 chief justice flipped after previously deciding to effectively throw out the entire VRA as the head of the legislative branch of government, as he certainly knew far better than congress that there is no longer any racial discrimination or racial bias in America, particularly not in the Southern states nor in politics.

Then this one time the chief changed his mind and decided one small part of the VRA could remain in force when confronted with overwhelming evidence of racism in violation of plain language of the law, although he continues to deny the existence of racism. But only after letting his party win an election with these illegally gerrymandered maps.

Chief Justice Roberts for Speaker, as he has already taken over most of the job of the legislature anyway?

It also boggles my mind people loke @railer said the following in another thread...

"nobody cares what color your skin is"

Do I need a /s or is it obvious my mind is not boggled by him and he clearly is ignorant about this kind of M.O. by Republicans.

Hey @railer seems Republicans do care and will take any step necessary to mitigate the political power of people like me.
