I seem to recall laws banning renaming Confederate Traitor shit being at least floated back when places started taking down the racist ass statues put up in the 1900s.

Which, even if there is, I say call the AG's bluff, do a public fundraiser to pay for it and any extra money will go to build a memorial to the man (that they renamed the street after) and the city standing up to the dickhead State. Start embarrassing these fucking pieces of shit and turn their racism into historic markers.

This is a reminder that efforts to defend pro-Confederacy statues and other public artifacts aren't about preserving history... they're about maintaining racist control.

Times change and attitudes change right along with them and anybody with a modicum of awareness can see it happening. And then we have the throwbacks, the stalwart "traditionalists" that don't like these inevitable changes because it negatively affects how much influence and power they possess.

Authoritarianism is their only recourse. Another rebellion of sorts, replete with a call to arms and a rejection of the laws of the land. Sad to say that the Repub party is the source of this effort as a means to retain whatever influence they have left over the nation.
