If you have this monitor. Answer a few questions please.

1) Which graphics card are you using with it?

2) What device did you use to calibrate it with? (Sencore, Spyder Pro,etc)

3) What games are you playing on it? (360, FPS's, etc)

4) How satisfied are you with your purchases?

I have the baby version AL2216W It's basically the same except that well it's 22" instead of 26"

1) Which graphics card are you using with it?

ATI 2600XT in Crossfire

2) What device did you use to calibrate it with? (Sencore, Spyder Pro,etc)

None

3) What games are you playing on it? (360, FPS's, etc)

Games and video's are very nice, Quake 4, enemy territory, few others

4) How satisfied are you with your purchases?[/quote]

I got this monitor as soon as it was available and the PITA is that you have to set the resolution first before installing it, in other words put present monitor at 1280 x 768 then install it, push the auto button and that's it.

You have to understand that this is Acer's value line and the first monitors to come out didn't have HDCP I think they now do but you have to check if it's included. Mine doesn't have HDCP or tilt or adjust in anyway which was fine with me. After using it for 6 months or so I can't even tell if there's fading or dead pixels ect.. For the bang for the buck I'm very satisfied. You get what you pay for but it's very nice IMHO.

There's quite a price diff between the 22" and 26" right now at ncix the 22" is $289 and the 26" is $745 more than double the price ouch.

Also on Acer's website the 22" specification is 22" wide and the 26" specification is 25.5" wide. Go figure.

My entire system is very very nice, no lag no waiting no problems everything is quick :)

I have this monitor, used it for about a year, and recent;y upgraded to a 24" LCD:

1) Which graphics card are you using with it?

>> ATI X850XT

2) What device did you use to calibrate it with? (Sencore, Spyder Pro,etc)

>> None - calibrated it myself until I liked the colors

3) What games are you playing on it? (360, FPS's, etc)

>> Played mostly role-playing games such as Oblivion, and some FPS's. Games were nice, at least i was happy with them at the time.

4) How satisfied are you with your purchases?

>> At the time of purchase, I was very satisified. It only cost me $50 to upgrade to this from a 20" 4:3 LCD. It has one stick red pixel, which I hardly ever notice.

The LCD is decent - nice for gaming. However it judt isn't anywhere near as nice as my new 24" Soyo LCD from OfficeMax. The original cost for both LCDs was the same (although I worked out a trade with a friend to get the Acer relatively cheap). If you can afford to pay a little more, and have access to OfficeMax, then the Soyo is much better. Someone else, here in the forums, made a color profile which gets the colors looking good. it is not hard to adjust the colors by hand, either. The Soyo is an MVA panel which is an upgrade from the TN panel of the 22" Acer.

Having both LCDs at home, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Acer 22" LCD, when you can have a much better 24" LCD for a little more. I would only get the Acer if your absolutely strapped for cash. My graphics card cannot run the 24" Soyo at full resolution, but the monitor scales well, so I'm perfectly happy running at wahtever resolution my X850XT allows me to. The LCD also has a 4:3 aspect ratio option for older non-widescreen games.

Edit: I can't figure out how to make a direct link to the Soyo. Just go to Office max and search for "Soyo" and it will show up.
