AL1916W Screen Flickering

I own a Acer AL1916 widescreen LCD screen for about a year and a half and for a while the screen has been flickering every so often, usually when I play games or there's a dark screen present. I'm running it as a second monitor from my laptop. The video card is a NVidia QuadroFX Go1400.

I don't know what I can do to fix this. The refresh rate is set at 60hz. It's a dell workstation laptop and I've tried updating the drivers from nvidia but it doesn't work. Is it mainly the video card taht is causing the problem?
