I'm surprise no one posted this. It's very scary:

"SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Osama bin Laden's terror network claims to have bought ready-made nuclear weapons on the black market in central Asia, the biographer of al-Qaida's No. 2 leader was quoted as telling an Australian television station.

In an interview scheduled to be televised on Monday, Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir said Ayman al-Zawahri claimed that "smart briefcase bombs" were available on the black market. It was not clear when the interview between Mir and al-Zawahri took place.

...

"Dr Ayman al-Zawahri laughed and he said 'Mr. Mir, if you have $30 million, go to the black market in central Asia, contact any disgruntled Soviet scientist, and a lot of ... smart briefcase bombs are available,'" Mir said in the interview."

Yeah, it's pretty scary -- especially since I live in Maryland/WashingtonDC/Northern VA area. I have a bad feeling about this. Actually ever since 9/11 I've been having a bad feeling about life in general.

It is incredible rthat Al Queda could deestroy the US, The most powerful nation in the world, with these head games. They could very well make us spend ourselves into oblivon.

Suitcase nuke is scary. You don't have to be living in one of the big cities to be scared of what would happen afterwards

We have nukes that can fit in an artillery shell, but they are not very powerful (only a couple kton I think). I would assume the Soviets could design them that small too, but I doubt someone sitting in a cave could do it.

Well no, but they could just go buy one on the black market. A couple of ktons could do some serious damage.

Our 400,000,000,000$ defense budget doesnt comfort you? I mean come on, with multi-billion dollar planes and boats Al Qaeda doesn't stand a chance right?

They have claimed they would only use them if they threat Al Qaeda was on the verge of destruction.

I would too if George W. wasn't in there.

say usama is captured and they want him freed?

we'd have to take the blow to stand for freedom, such is the American way, we can't cave in to terrorists that have no goal but to destroy us anyway.

over all, i don't buy that they can deliver: or they whould have.

Think how many Bill Gates could have. Rupert Murdoch? Rush Limbaugh could have some!

Staggers the imagination

Obviously the wealthy are terrorists and they have nuclear weapons.

Run for your lives!

Seriously, people need to relax. If "they" can get one, then "they" could be just about anyone. Our list of enemies with the needed cash grows longer all the time. Time to have a beer and relax.

This has been a potential problem for years, and one day it will bite us in the ass, but DC does not want to talk about it. Since they aren't worrying much, there is little we can do.

I seriously doubt it....Just a matter of time though the way we are alienating the rest of the world someone will be thier enabler. Remeber China Hates us and controls everything at the party level with zero checks and balances no ones the wiser...
