Al Qaeda released a statement on militant Web sites Friday confirming the death of Osama bin Laden, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadi Web sites. The lengthy statement, dated May 3 and signed by Al Qaeda’s General Command, warned of new attacks and called on the Pakistani people to rebel against their government to protest its relations with the United States.

So they want the Pakistani populace to overthrow the government that didn't help the US capture OBL? Quite possibly even purposefully failed to mention they knew where he was even. Makes sense...

They're backwards cavemen still living in the stone age. Do you really think they would have thought that through?

Um, the core of the conspiracy is that al-qaida is part of the CIA, so Alqaida's statement doesn't prove that bin Laiden didn't die in 12/01.

I haven't heard of anyone thinking bin Laiden wasn't dead. The only two conflicting stories I've heard are as to whether he died on 5/1/11 or 12/13/01.

The Pakistanis almost hate OBL as much as the hate the USA. It's hard to figure out who has killed more innocent Pakistanis.

You can go and fuck all your money. We need to start denouncing American aid in exchange for our blood, security and pride. Death to America. Death to Zardari. Death to AlQaeeda. Death to the Taliban.

Until another earthquake hits, then it's ok?

Do me a favor and rent a truck, paint "Death to America on it", and drive it along the Afghan border for a few days.

Funny how there was no "Death to the terrorist harboring corrupt ISI" in your tirade.

I believe that, really. The problem is that your government isn't unified. The civilian government hasn't control over the military and the intelligence services aren't accountable in any real sense. They would use someone like Bin Laden for their own purposes which unfortunately aren't dedicated to the people. In all sincerity I wish your people well.

Be sure not to accept any foreign aid with strings attached that might influence the decisions of your leadership. Once the US pulls out (inevitable given how much everyone, save for Bush and Obama, hates the wars), I'm sure China is going to be trying to buy Pakistan's politicians / military leaders in order to provoke trouble (possibly proxy war) with India. Beware the possibility of just switching puppet-masters rather than obtaining complete, unquestioned sovereignty.

Death to America. Death to Zardari. Death to AlQaeeda. Death to the Taliban.

Slaughter the followers of last two (or kick them into Afghanistan for NATO to slaughter), do whatever you want to the 2nd and the 1st will leave.

Whelp, that's where you lost me. I'm of the mind that paying aid to military governments is a bad idea in general.

I'm all for stopping money to you, but be warned. If the "Death to America" becomes nukes directed our way, then there will be an end to it and your people. Choose wisely.

I can at least understand why TGB makes the statement, accepting Money to lease a Pakistani road into Afghanistan, has proved to be an unmitigated disaster for the Pakistani people. And the deal was that no US or Nato military activity was to be permitted in Pakistan itself.

But mission creep and Nato incompetence is not the fault of Pakistan.

But just about every nation on earth will learn the lesson of Pakistan, when Uncle Sam again comes offering all that lovely military aid toys and sweet nothing promises, just say NO THANK YOU SAM.

You do understand that the government allows CIA UAV bases on their land, right?

They only pretend to scold us to save face with the public.
