Jeeze, the hostility to Al is ridiculous. He's a good hearted nerd trying to do what he thinks is right. I REALLY wish he would have been president. He would have been great. I think world would be MUCH better off right now.

FWIW, he never really said he created the internet. He had a slip of the tongue, then explained that he was on an oversight committee which created the ARPNET which became the internet... But, whatever keeps the hatemongers in soundbites, I guess...

I know that . But the imagemacros are funny so it doesn't matter that they're not the truth. A lot of people do seem to be letting the hatred out in this thread. I hope it doesn't become a "omg global warming is lies"/"global warming is not humans"/"holy crap can't we do something about this the world is ending" thread either. I watched AL Gore give his presentation and have seen him speak in public twice, so I'm not sure what the big deal is (or why people would instantly not want to go just 'cause its him). Of course he does live like 5 miles from here, so that might be why .
