Al Gore given ticket in Oregon for speeding

75 in a 55, way to go Al, I remember driving through oregon, our car got the best gas mileage through that state, but it also took forever, it's just not right to travel through a state at 60 mph.

WTF? They give you 4 months to deal with a speeding ticket in Oregon? Here in NH it's 30 days. Also...$141 for 75 in a 55?!?!

WTF? Your ignorance is becoming obvious... A simple 75 in a 55mph and you would arrest the guy and impound the car? I've had a ticket for 109mph in a 65mph, and a 100mph in a 55mph and I was simply given a ticket with a court date. I'm guessing you would do that simply because of who was pulled over.

Oh wait...you're from Georgia...explains a lot.

Nah most of the laws don't apply to senators..
they can rob a quickie mart if they wanted, and cops can't do anything about it..

Wait - it's worse to speed on a highway than to speed on a residential street? Or is the 55 and under schedule *only* for highways that are 55 and under.

I'd consider 61 in a 35 zone to be worse than 91 in a 65, but maybe it's just me.

Nope, the 55 and under schedule is for all roads with a speed limit of 55mph or below...residential or highway. I think they made the new 65MPH category a few years back to appease the troopers who were not happy about it. I think the reasoning is with a 65mph speed limit, you are already going a higher speed, so the fines are more strict. I think that's their reasoning, but I can't say I agree with it...

We do have a few other "catch all" speeding violations they can use for special cases...check the link..
