Did he smoke a lot, or just try it? Cause, Wouldn't he be like, "cooler," if he actually did smoke it? He just seems so.....blah. At least Bush is goofy and light headed from it.

what are you talking about? bush is an ass, you see that interview he did with babwa? He seemed like a dick to me in the begining, and he's got a temper that makes him say the stupidest things. "there ought to be limits to our freedom" i mean, that's not what you're suposed to say while trying to get elected president of the largest democracy in the world... of course he would be a little strung out after all that partying...ahh, we won't go there

You know he discovered it while working on the family tobacco plantations....thats not politically correct, they were tobacco farms.

I also think he invented rolling papers, bic lighters and bongs.

This is exactly why there should be some kind of general competency requirement before letting people vote. It's why Bill Clinton got elected too (because women thought he had a nice ass or something). Doesn't anyone care that Al Gore represents a largely idiotic, vastly corrupt, and insane liberal agenda that is inherently anti-American? Guess not :(

What about George W Bush. Was he into crack, smack, cocaine, or is he just plain still on them now?

I can't believe how people have forgotten about that part of his past life.

The_Mutha:The largest democracy in the world, btw, is INDIA.

Looks likes Convex can't admitt when he's wrong, the fact is India is the largest democracy in the world, surelly its irrelivent (particully in a democracy) what parties they elect to lead them. BTW, that Indian state that elected the communists (which is really by western standards a Social democrat party) is one of the best run states in India, being about the only state there, that has instituted family planning measures that work & thus is about the only Indian state with that has successfully controlled its birthrate, its also about the only Indian state that is managing to protect the enviroment, anywhere near successfully.

Dabs kinda already said what I am going to say.

Can a democracy be a democracy if the people are denied their choice? If the people elect a communist party, it is their right in a democracy to have a communist government. As long as that party continues to abide by democratic principles, then that government continues to be a democracy. Unless someone proves otherwise, then India is the world's largest (by population)democracy, Russia(gasp)is the largest by land mass, and the US is the largest by power and ego:)D ).

I want to know why it matters if the current president, or the others running for president smoked weed?

I know its an illegal drug, but think about it... Does something that happened when they were kids have any impact on their lives? I seriously doubt it. I mean... They are running for president!

growing up in India, it sure didn't feel like a communist country.
I feel a little ashamed as I do not keep up with the politics and
events in India, where as I should. I am just curious to know as to
how many people in this forum are indian? me being one and anand
being two. I get a feeling there are a lot. wouldn't surprise me, knowing how thrify us indians are, this would be the perfect place to find us. heheheh

Have you even been to India before? The state you're talking about is West Bengal, and no real progress has been made there in the last 20 years. To give you an example of how backward a place it is, they still DC electricity in the state's capital of Calcutta (most places in the world use AC). Other Indian cities such as Mumbai and New Delhi continue to develop at staggering rates due to developments in IT, an influx of foreign investments, etc. While Calcutta is left behind. And, if I'm not mistaken, WB continues to have one of the highest birth rates in the nation, and one of the lowest literacy rates, thanks largely to an inept Socialist government in that state. You should actually research what you're talking about, before making sh|t up, because getting brutally smacked down after lying is not fun :)
