eh. you can't call AD that subtle. for every 'clever' joke (say a deadpan play on words from whatsisface mcexpensivehair) there was outright absurdism from job, buster, tobias...

i liked it. and sjwaste sounds like he may actually like some of the things that i like, so i'll try and finally give this show a shot. is it gay? i seem to remember it being uh, kinda gay. not that i care, it's just that if a gay couple is in the central plot, the network tends to overplay the, uh, homo card. worse than with token black guys in white sitcoms (go sit in the corner black scrubs).

AD had a lot of subtlety in the background. That's what gave the show such good replay value for me. There's always something you didn't get before.

MF has a gay couple. Depending on the episode, the main story is about them, but it's not ridiculous, "Hey look, Ellen's gay now!" sort of humor. If a stereotype is apparent, it's because they're making fun of it themselves. Definitely not token, the show is a lot funnier because of the gay couple. If anything, Cam is my favorite character on the show. But the central story arc generally involves the whole family.

I'd suggest watching MF from the very beginning. The first episode, or was it the pilot, really brings it all together. I won't spoil it, but it was a good kickoff to the show.

lol no, it's not gay. there is a gay couple in the show, though. you gotta watch the show to understand how it's funny.

it's kinda like a group of writers sat down and said "ok, let's make a sitcom comedy about a family... and have the family dynamic be as ridiculous as possible... GO!"

the show doesn't really pick up until the 3rd episode, though.

They play the gay card like it is going out of style, so watching this show for you will be like a splinter in your anus.

honestly i've never watched it because people keep saying the same thing about shows that make me want to smash my face against a hot waffle iron.

question- would you compare it more to seinfeld, friends, fraisier....things of that era...or lots of current shows that require acronyms and may or may not have doogie house and/or charlie sheen and a closet case sidekick?

edit- totally not flaming/trolling/whatever...at least not the show/person in the OP; just curious if it really is worth a look. if you like this and, say, don't like fraiser....i probably have no interest in this. and that's ok.

why don't you just fucking watch it and find out? it is a 1/2 hour show, holy shit people are lazy.

His time for complaining about everything is MUCH too important to allocate 30 minutes to something that isn't a sure bet.

Well deserved !

If it wasn't for married with children and the simpsons there would be no fox network on tv. They were the only shows the network had when it started out and because of their success fox exist today.

Which is both good and bad, given Fox's penchant for running great shows and then cancelling them prematurely.

Who's that riding in the sun?
Who's the man with the itchy gun?
Well, who's the man who kills for fun?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad!

A little touched or so we're told.
Killed his wife 'cause she had a cold.
Might as well, she was gettin' old.
Psy-cho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad!

He's quick with a gun, and his job ain't done.
Killed his wife by twenty-one
Shot her 'cause she weighed a ton
Psy-cho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad!

Who's the tall, dark stranger there.
The one with the gun and the icy stare.
Holding the scalp of his ex-wife's hair.
Psy-cho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad

Psy-cho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad

Psy-cho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad
