I can't stand the guy. His 'music' is total crap, and I certainly think what he does on stage is tasteless. But he should most certainly not be blamed for this stuff - she was a willing participant and he had very good reason to believe she was over 18. The guy is a douche but in this case he is innocent.

Just out of curiosity, did the girl ever complain? Has she spoken to the media? Let's get real - that was probably the night of her life so far.

I've heard she was the daughter of a local preacher.. so that's probably where the outrage is coming from.

That's a pretty fracking sad life, even for a fourteen y/o.

Word, she should have at least gone in the back room and made a sex tape with him.

Given how she was dressed, that's where she was headed. She'll likely be pregnant by the end of the year, in any case. Too bad she lost her shot at catching a rich guy to keep her.

When I was 14 I would have given anything to meet one of my favourite rock artists. If I got to shake Marilyn Manson's hand (yeah I was emo as a teen) it would certainly have made my life. That's not a sad life, that's how teens are. For some reason they hold celebrities to very high esteem.

We could guess that this a 14-year old who makes straight As, does volunteer work for the poor and needy, etc and this was just a one-time incident where she got carried away and was coerced by peer pressure and being star-struck to dress provocatively and sneak into the show to see it and is traumatized by what happened...

Or, we could be more realistic and guess that she's a 14-year old skank who skanked her way into a skankfest and got on stage to get her skank on with the head-lining skank in a daring show of scandalous skankitude.

So yeah, her life probably is pretty sad.

My life would be complete if Debbie Gibson had only held me down and grinded my junk on stage. :D

What? I made a good point, you ignored it in favour of making a stupid joke, and you think you're right? Does anyone here really think that the girl didn't absolutely love what happened to her on stage? Anyone think she didn't go around to her teeny-bopper friends the next day and spread her story around so everyone knew that she was the teeny who go dry-humped by this loser?

That wasn't a joke. It was a serious question, based on your statement that you "would have given anything." But if you couldn't even take the question seriously, then you must know how unacceptable that behavior is. At least for you, maybe it's different for her, for some reason?

What the hell are you talking about? You're saying that because a heterosexual 14 year old boy wouldn't let Marilyn Manson dry-hump him, that a 14 year old horny heterosexual (presumably) girl wouldn't enjoy the treatment she got from Akon? How do you make that leap in logic?

Edit - do you seriously think that she didn't enjoy what happened to her that night, or are you just being intentionally contentious?

Of course she didn't enjoy it, there wasn't even any penetration. She got all ho'd up for nothing. :|

When did I ever say she didn't enjoy it? I don't give a flying flip whether she enjoyed it - that doesn't make it acceptable behavior. Are you saying that it does?

Yes, from Akon's part it is totally acceptable. She was a willing participant and presumably (from his point of view) over 18. He did nothing wrong.

But the thought of MM doing it to you is too "stupid" to consider. Why is that, do you think?

Because I'm heterosexual
Because I never dressed like something MM would want to fvck
Because I never offered myself to him
Because when I was 14 I looked 14
Because when I was 14 I never entered 18+ gigs
...

Edit - Listen sixone, you may not approve of what he did on stage with her. I sure as hell think it was unnecessary. But he is an adult. He presumed (with good reason) that she was an adult. Whether you like it or not, consenting adults can do whatever the hell they want, within the confines of the law. In this case, yes Akon found himself on the wrong side of the law, but there was no reasonable way for him to know.

This case could be likened to that case a few weeks ago where a man shot his wife's lover because he thought that she was being raped an kidnapped. Obviously this isn't as extreme, but consider this. In that case, the man who shot (and killed) the wife's lover was not charged with murder, because the wife herself said she was being raped. There was no reasonable way for him to know that she was lying, and he did what he had to to protect his wife.

In this case, Akon had every reason to believe that she was 18 years old. She wasn't, but that isn't his fault - he performed for his audience and for her (and for himself) because that's what he does.

Now, if it's a moral issue you have a problem with, that's a different story. I think it's disgusting, but I also believe that consenting adults have the right to dry hump in public, just like I have a right to avoid the tacky kinds of clubs where this sort of trash happens, and I have the right to not buy Akon's albums if I have a personal issue with the way he composes himself in public. You have the same rights. What you don't have the right to do is tell him that he can't do this stuff on stage.
