And China isn't the only location with harsh penalty for drug smuggling. Singapore is very famous for it.

What you don`t get is there are bi-polar people who are mildly bi-polar and actually donot need meds and can function almost normally every day.

Then there are those who are truly 100% bi-polar and need 24/7 attention.
It`s very nice that your ex was not anything liike that. Yet for every one like your ex there are those who need 24/7 attention and meds and therapy to even be able to function.

My sister is one of the later and her husband and children care for her 24/7 and her meds if he had to pay for them would cost him easily $800+ a month....

So before you go making light over a very serious and debilitating disease you need to be thankful that your ex was an exception.

1. Nobody disputes the fact that britian was THE world power several years ago. That is not the case any more. they are A world power, but not THE world power. Right now, I would say they are in the same boat as pretty much every other major European country (Germany, France, Italy, ect)

3. I find it particularly humerus that you try and talk about our lack of historical knowledge, when the topic at hand isn't history, it is current state. Think about this, what is your opinion of the American involvement in WWII? If you are the standard british citizen it is something along the lines of "America is a stupid country and they didn't do anything in WWII. The British isle would have won the war without them!"

This is a VERY common opinion by the younger British. Yet, the older generation (Those that where actually involved with the war) have a very different opinion. The only way I can see the huge discrepancy is the fact that british schools are seriously trying to downplay the american involvement in WWII.

I suppose not, but I am unaware of a cultural war within the _muslim_community_ concerning the use of terrorism. I suppose it's there. I've seen it stated elsewhere, I'll reiterate it here: muslims, all muslims, have to stand against terrorism. If they don't want to have a bad name as terrorists, they have to forcefully condemn the elements within their ranks that allow it, encourage it, foster it, nurture it. They have to decide for themselves if they will tolerate terrorist ideologies and activities within their ranks and then effectively eliminate them. I haven't seen that happening yet.
