Akira

Pretty decent. I saw it like 13-14 yrs ago when i was 13 or so... so the experience was different then. And i also saw it in a theatre.

I liked it, but I saw the dubbed version and I think a little bit was lost in the translation. The ending was a little fuzzy here too, I kinda read it as some kind of scientificly forced evolution. I have been told that the graphic novel tells a much more detailed story.

akira is a classic, but boring as hell imo. i watch a lot of anime because its "classic" but some...well...Cowboy Bebop is considered one of the definitive animes ever, but i just didn't take to it. it was a solid series, but not quite as interesting to me.

yeah, if you like plot twists, try Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade or Kite (make sure you get the censored American version if you don't like to see middle-aged anime wang 😛)

Summary:

One person yelling out his friend name: "Tetsuo"
And Tetsuo responding by yelling out 'Keneda" back.

Repeat for 3 hours.

Never watched it from the beginning to the end, so I never actually understand what's going on.
However, all my roomates told me that Akira was a good movie...
