The 27" is $350 at sams. So I wouldn't say they are cheap.

I saw it at Sams club for $199.99 3 weeks ago when I was shopping around. I believe I made a post about it in one of those 85 dollar apex flat screen threads for walmart.

Akai i believe is an offshoot brand of toshiba? or one of those japanese companies....there was a huge thread about the 27" akai long time ago which is actually the SAME exact TV as the high quality samsung flat screen unit. dunno who makes the 24"

I dont think the 24" unit is a samsung.

same unit as here, but w/o super video input (and no component, I think).

Just a rebadged Samsung.... with the exception that the Samsung units are built in Korea, while the Akia are built in Mexico.
