I've been looking for this case for a while now, but unfortunately it just isn't available here in the USA.

For those who are not familiar with Eclipse 62, it is based on the GlobalWin YCC61F1 ATX Server Case with a few refinements. The features include:

Well constructed aluminium chassis
All panels are removeable (this includes the top)
Slide out motherboard tray
Lots of interior room
120mm honeycomb intake and exhaust grills for excellent airflow
Black (interior and exterior) understated appearance

Well I had pretty much given up hope of getting the Eclipse 62 until the other day when I read a computer case thread at the jonnyguru.com forums. The ubiquitous GalvanizedYankee wrote that there was a possibility that Sidewinder Computers might offer the Akasa Eclipse 62 for sale if there is enough customer interest. Woot!!

I emailed sales@sidewindercomputers.com to let them know that I was very interested in buying the Eclipse 62 and got a quick response from Gary Stofer.

This brings me to the point of this post. If there others here that are also interested in buying the Akasa Eclipse 62, let Sidewinder know about it with an email. A few more people expressing interest just might persuade them to finally make this case available.

You could always import one from England (you don't have to pay the VAT) if you don't want to wait. In the olden audiophile days, we used to do that all the time...

I emailed Gary Stofer last month.
I doubt overcool.com is ever going to get any back in stock.
Two guys on this forum have and love this case.

Yea. I'd get one f they carry it. Mailed him too. Also I contacted Asaka (in uk). They said they might be working on distributing their products in usa but it isn't clear when or if. Ordering from uk is out of the question - shipping would double the cost.

Take a look at the new Silverstone TJ-09. Pretty much on the same idea as the Akasa and perhaps not the cost of doing a self-import on the Akasa.

The TJ-09 is tall and expensive (seems more similar to lian-li g70 than the Eclipse. The Eclipse is short and squat.

The TJ is a couple of inches taller and the Akasa is a couple of inches wider - i bet they'd cube out about the same. The 09 is a nice case indeed but as you say, too pricey...

I wonder what kind of difficulty level we'd be talking about to import a container load to the east coast and another to the west coast of a mix of Eclipses and Mirages direct from Taiwan... ;)

Well per GY's post one of the smaller stores is willing to do it if he can buy enough buyers in advance to risk it. I'm not sure of the cost involved or how big the lot needs to be to make shipping economical but vaguely I think the number 50 is what i heard (not sure about that)
