Got some new fans yesterday, despite all types of recommendations decided on the Akasa Amber 92mm as one of them. Haven't done the full install yet, but plugged it in just to test, and this thing is DEAD SILENT at 12v. Very little turbulence noise if you put your ear right next to it, at about 6 inches away you can't hear it at all.

Only 29 CFM but that's exactly what I wanted.

If you're looking for an alternative to the Nexus Real Silent, try this one out.

Also picked up the DTB 92x37mm, pretty loud at 12v but not as bad as my Zalman 92mm. I'll be undervolting it so I'm not too worried.

These are for the twin 92mm intakes at the front of my P150. The Akasa will run at 12v and the DTB will be on a fan controller. Was originally worried that the 37mm would bump into my suspended HDs, but moved them to the bottom mounts and put the DTB as the top fan, clears them just fine.

Thanks to Galvanized for advice over PM. Ship that Sanyo Denki already! ;)

hehhehehe. Those SD 120's are just sexy. I love them. :) Nothing but Sanyo Denki and DTB fans for me from now on, with the exception of the 8 92x25mm Nidec fans I just ordered. I'm starting to get a collection of fans over here, and my wife is getting more and more annoyed. :D I don't think I'm even allowed to mention "fans" in front of her anymore. LOL

That DTB better be 38mm thick not 37 ;) But at 57cfm, drawing 4.95mm H2O and at only
36dBA it's one nice fan. If your controller can go down to 3.5V that fan will start/run and
be happy there. It's almost silent at 8V.

EDIT: Kind of funny how the 36dBA of this fan is not as irritating as the 36dBA of a 7 bladed fan.
I find them much more ear friendly.

Glad to here the Akasa is so quiet. It does draw less than 1mm H2O and that means it will
not tolerate intake restriction.
The SD will go out at 10:00AM USPS. :D

Hmmm, good point about the Akasa. Already cut out the honeycomb in front of it, will have to test how much the stock filter affects it.

I'm looking forward to that fan. If Chocobo was any happier with the SDs I think his wife would get jealous.

"Honey, what are you doing in there?"
"NOTHING!" (bzzzzzT!)
