Akai 30" 16:9 widescreen TV

Has anyone here tried, seen one of these Akai 30" 16:9 widescreen TVs in action? I was at Sam's Club yesterday and saw one of these for aprox $500 and was wondering if anyone had anything good/bad to say about them. It has an S-Video in and I was thinking that it could work with my Vid-Card to view movies from my computer.

Sorry, here is a link to the TV on the Sams Club site. Just do a search for Akai.

link dead, b/c it uses a shopping cart it looks like

i'd like to hear what people think about akai's too, check out audioreview.com and avsforum.com too

Its not HDTV, so for $500 you're better off buying a quality 4:3 32/36" set....the actual video will be larger than a 16:9 30" set anyway.

I wouldn't trust that name if I were you. For another 400 bucks you can get a samsung 30'' Widescreen HDTV.

Someone I know just bought this same TV.

It doesn't look as good as the 34" Sony WEGA we've got in the office, but it doesn't look bad, either.

I wouldn't mind having one. 🙂
