AK35GT/GTR reviewers BIOS?

It looks like Shuttle finally implemented usable vCore's above 1.85v with the AK35GT series, after many complains that the earlier AK31 boards appeared to support higher vCore's but didn't.

But it seems another AK31 complaint has returned: Looking over many reviews of the AK35GT, I've noticed a full array of memory tweaks, more than even the AK31 907 "performance" BIOS had. However, the shipping BIOS, s00d (dated 12/26/01 and listed on Shuttle's site as 1/15/02) does not contain several of the same options. Thus, as was complained about when the AK31 was being reviewed, the reviewers seem to have gotten a better BIOS than the paying customers.

Does anyone know if there is a "performance" BIOS for the AK35GT similar to the 907 AK31 BIOS?

Well, this is not good. I was about a minute away from hitting "Buy Now" on Newegg's site when I saw this thread. What's the dealie here?

I wouldn't worry about it. There is no 'perfect' mobo. There may or may not be 'performance BIOS' conspiracies.

The only reason I didn't buy the Shuttle AK31 when I upgraded was that there was no RAID version. (I bought KR7A/RAID for the four IDE ports, and paid dearly for it).

If I were buying today, I'd get the Shuttle AK35GTR. Same features, lower price and great reviews.

Hope this helps!

My point was to point out that the issue came up again and to see if anyone had a different BIOS.

Many people circulated the 907 BIOS in the the belief that it could not be downloaded from Shuttle. This was not actually true, since Shuttle did have it on their FTP site, but most people didn't know that. Later, Shuttle removed it even from their FTP, so the only way to get it was to share in among users.

If there is a performance BIOS for the AK35GT, I think people would do well to keep their eyes open for it, and spread it around.

I am certainly not knocking the board, but I do expect to get the reviewed features, and Shuttle has had a problem here in the past. It still hasn't kept me from buying my third Shuttle board.
