AIW X800 XT release date?

I've been at ATI's site reading about the AIW X800 XT, and I'm drooling. I've checked around for prices (pricewatch and newegg), and there's no search results for this card, so I assume it's not out yet. Anyone know where I can find a release date or, if it is out, a price?

Hope there's a price drop after the holidays. That card's worth every penny, I just don't have that many right now.

It's the sexiest thing I've seen in my life. A few weeks ago it was predicted at about 750, but I guess things became a bit real. Too bad I won't need the AIW features. Sweet card.

yeah...i was all set to buy the 9800 pro, but then i saw this on the product comparison portion of ATI's site.

Has anyone seen a solid release date for this card yet? I signed up on the email list of the site listed above so that I know when they're in stock, but I'd like to know when to start looking for it.

Kcbass, my bet is that you're never going to see an exact AIW X800XT. AMD's new R430/480 product launch makes it pretty clear they're moving on with the R42x, so the AIW will have to use one of the later chips. Since the R480 and R420 have been running hot enough that their cooling it taking up a sizable chunk of the card, I expect that the AIW we see is going to be R430 based, which allows for the smaller HSF. It also means that the card will be at sub-XT speeds though, maybe XL speeds instead.

Anyhow, to get back to the point, I don't expect the AIW X800 until after the X800XL ships.

Those folks need to start shipping these cards. This whole business of zero in stock everywhere for these X800-this-and-thats is really starting to get on my nerves.

Same with the 6800 Ultras.

Who knows? It's a sound bet that the AIW X800XL will ship shortly after the X800XL itself, but it's anyone's guess when the XL will ship. ATI doesn't seem to be in any hurry. Considering that they won't want an AIW until the AGP-PCIe bridge is ready, it's likely a wait until Q1.

Personally though, I would just get a regular video card and get seperate tuners, so the next time you upgrade your video card you can keep your tuners.

The HD equipment is uber-expensive though. It could easily add $100 to the card.

well, i need a new vid card fairly soon, and it needs to handle everything the AIW's can (tv, dvd, vid in, vid out, remote, etc). It needs to be more than 64 vid ram, and it needs to be faster than the 8500...should i just go for the air 9800 pro, or wait for the x800 xt?

Considering no one knows when the X800 is coming out, you might as well get the 9800.

I'm gonna try contacting ATI directly first and ask them for a solid/gelatinous release date, and see what the tell me. I'll post it here, as well

Ok....so I just went to ATI's site to send a customer support email asking about the release date of the AIW x800 xt, and now i can't find it on the product comparison sheet, so what's going on? Are they still gonna release it? bump

It just bothers me that no other sites have put up a listing for the card, and now ATI has removed it from the product comparison sheet...That just seems to me like a bad sign... bump

That is a cool card, and it's about time they released a multimedia card for the PCI express slot, but I need one for AGP...I don't have the money yet to go athlon 64 fx and pci express. bump

Still waiting on a reply from ATI...meanwhile, let me know if anyone sees the card available at any retailers.

I am waiting for this card as well.
I just built an all new PC that is complete and waiting for this card.
Now I'm not sure what to do.
