AIW TV sound & no DVD installation problems

Slowly setting up my AIW and now have TV on the screen with the video capture drivers for DX8 installed but no sound. Initialization setup screen offered several options for sound output(I have 2 speakers & SBLive) with a box saying, if no sound reselect output, but now I cant find that setup screen in the TV setup. There are audio in/out on the vid card but connectors aren't same as cdrom/sound card connector. Any ideas? Do I have to output sound from the video to the audio via a cable?

As well, I dont have DVD available as I get a fail to initialize screen due to insufficient video memory, audio in use or etc and I have downloaded the new DVD 4.1 and installed as well.

The manual is rich in how to make use of all the features but slim on setting up and troubleshooting. This is my first ATI and I wanted it for the TV onscreen and DVD playback.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had your problem too, for a few minutes after installing my Radeon AIW..

With your AIW (Radeon?), there is a cable (1 wire that separates into 3 audio outputs?) that you have to plug into the back of your AIW and plug one of the other ends into an input of your soundcard. Sorry, I'm horrible with terminologies, but I think you can figure it out. There's only one sort cable that comes included.

Ace, you're absolutely right and it only took me 5 hours to figure it out. My cables however are all still in the bags and I found an internal sound cable and put it from the sblive to the aiw and it works now. Took me a few tries and a bit of grief but not a lot of help in the manual to explain it. So now its all up and running. Looks good but the 2d is no better than my V5 but love the TV.
