AIW Radeon Question

I have W2K and the AIW Radeon. I see many people here are having the same problems I am with getting it to work. I don't really want to have to do a lot of messing around required and then have to worry if the next driver release will break what was done to make it work.

The question is: Are people having similar problems under W98/WinME? Or is this a VIA chipset problem (I have the IWill KK266-R) and I'll have problems with whatever OS I install?

I'll reinstall my system tonight with WinME if people are having good success with it and the AIW.

I tried those and it doesn't seem to work for me. If I try to capture video it drops around 30-40% of the frames and my mouse freezes. If I try to use the timeshifting my hard drives thrash and the system locks up. (Yes, my drives are fast enough.) I use the latest 4in1 drivers from VIA.

I don't have a DVD player so I'm hoping the software for it isn't what's making it work for everyone.

I like W2K much better than WinME, but since I just spent my computer upgrade money for the year I need to work.

I just noticed there's a VIA AGP fix from MS - it says its for the KT-133 chipset, do you need it for the KT-133A?

I'm running the 3124's, they work great, BUT, I still had to replace the "ati2mtag.sys" file with the 7073 set to be able to capture 720x480 mpeg-2 with no dropped frames, like the last several driver sets. Give it a try Chubs, it works.

Even if you don't have a DVD drive, install the new DVD 4.1 It will fix all your problems. It will solve what your link is talking about.
