I install the radeon aiw, and everything works fine, except i'm getting an unknown device in device manager, if i remove that, and restart, it still says unknown, and i've tried all the places for drivers that i can find, any ideas? I can post all of the devices that i have installed from the radeon if you need them. thanx

you'll need to give us more details of your system as the "unknown device" may well have to do with something else in your system!

I have 9 items under "System Properties/device manager/sound video and game controlers." If you don't have the same, list what you have and I'll post what's missing.
(I assume we have similar systems, aiw radeon, SB live card)

Well, you have everything I have under "sound video and game controlers," plus more.
Could it be a non-ati device? When did this thing show up?

It showed up right when it was detecting all other devices, it was never there before, i have webtv installed too, i had to do that for tv in to work. maybe that has something to do with it, you think?

Did you have a previous card, uninstalled it, and then installed the aiw?

If you have "TV Data Adapter" under "network adapters" then your aiw should be fully installed. I tend to think its some sort of residual from the previous card. I remember updating the drivers once on my previous aiw 128 and i got a similar problem. The main difference was that it was not an unknown device, but rather a voice modem device (which was odd, because I don't, and never did have a voice modem). Anyway, a full re-intall did solve my problem.

I'd try searching the registry for more "previous card related keywords" if you haven't already.

Anyone else out there have any ideas/opinions on this kind of prob.?
