I've been running a Radeon 9700 Pro for a while now, and have had a AiW 9700 for a few months (my bro bought it with the intent on using it, but about a week later upgraded to the 9800 pro when it came, so its been sitting around, unused. seriously, its been taken out of the box, but never removed from its antistatic bag. couldnt return it because he lost the receipt and had used the original box to send a former client some items).

well, my question is, how much worse is the AiW Radeon 9700 vs the 9700 pro. as far as i know, its not a AiW 9700 Pro, just regular 9700, because ATI doesnt make 9700 pro for AiW (anyone prove me wrong? maybe i'll look for the manual to confirm). i'm running a 9700 pro w/ati wonder ve tv tuner card, i'm debating whether or not to sell this 9700 pro w/tuner card and replace with the AiW, or stick with what i have now. anyone have benches on these 2 car pitted against each other? whats your recommendation: keep the 2 cards (9700 pro + tv tuner) and sell the AiW 9700, or sell the 2 cards and keep the AiW?

Edit: Apparently ATI DOES make an AiW 9700 Pro. Will look for manual to check which I have.

yep, just saw it after digging through the ATI site

so does the AiW 9700 Pro as good as the 9700 pro in performance (or provide negligable difference. ie:1-2fps)?

hrmm, just noticed that AiW doesnt support dual monitors :(
i guess i will have to stick with my 9700 pro, because i cant give up dual monitors!!!
does anyone know if its possible run dualies on the AiW via some kinda adapter or splitter? (i run extended desktop, not a clone)

btw, anyone else think MS should start giving better support for multi monitors?....maybe this isnt the forum to talk about this.

yeah you can run 2 monitors (1 dvi and 1 vga) with an AIW 9700 pro

I posted a thread on it awhile ago

Do you have a link to the thread?

Edit: I found this link Dual Display for AIW 9700 Pro although its not quite the cheapest method I wanted. $49 for the cable!?! My plans were to sell the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, and the ATI TV Wonder VE, instead of having to sell the AIW 9700 Pro, thereby, freeing up one PCI slot in my system. Now, I'm debating whether selling my current cards, and just selling the AIW. I don't have any extra money to put in to this setup, and I cant lose my dual monitor support =/

Anyone have a link to another quality cable, for a cheaper price? Or know of another method of going about doing dual display on the AIW?

yeah thats the site I linked to in my thread.

if you insist on using the AIW there is no other way to go besides that expensive splitter. If you have a Radeon + TV tuner cards already then don't worry about all this, just stick with that. Unless you plan on using every single pci slot.

I do have one of those cables for sale though, but since it is new, I am charging exactly what I bought for it, except no tax, and plus shipping, plus I am throwing in a really high quality modified 15pin D-Sub cable to get the secondary monitor (VGA) to work.
