AIW 9600 Pro & upgrade to MMC 8.8 issue

I can get everything to work with the AIW when I install everything just off of the installation CD. Cable channels, composite and s-video. I remove MMC 8.6, saving all of the settings, and upgrade to MMC 8.8. After that, I no longer get ANY tv channels and composite and s-video no longer work.

XP with SP1 and all hotfixes
I believe it uses the 3.6 drivers for the 9600, but I have attempted to upgrade to 3.10 before the MMC upgrade and it made no difference.

I'm stumped at the moment...I guess I will remove it all and skip the CD installation and see if that works, unless someone has any other ideas to throw my way before tomorrow night.

TIA!

I installed the drivers off the website and didnt get any major issues. But to be honest I have not had a chance to try anything other than a game on the thing yet. I need to get my VCR up here and see if the card actually works for its intended purpose hehe.

Well, I did get it working by NOT installing the 8.6MMC and only installing the 8.8MMC.

Like I figured, ATI Support stated that it is a configuration issue on my machine. My nice reply back asked them why 8.6 works and why it fails when I follow their upgrade instructions to 8.8. Of course, they also stated that I should checkout their online knowledgebase and FAQ (like I didn't already....).

Waiting for that reply back.

I had same problem and am currently stuck at 8.6 :frown: no matter what I try it wont upgrade. Cant be bothered with uninstalling / re installing incase it all goes wrong. Again.

You have to install the latest Catalysts with MMC 8.8 to get it to work properly. I had the same problem.

Not PAL.

Slammy1 - I hate to disagree with you, but I have 8.8 working with the 3.6 Catalyst drivers. I did not install 8.6, only 8.8 and it worked. Now, maybe you have to have the 3.10 drivers loaded first to do the upgrade, but it is not required to use 8.8.
