I am thinking about getting into airsofting. I've done some paintballing but haven't really gotten into it. I just have the basic stuff. Anyhoo, anyone know some good websites where I can get started, find some nice equipment and some general information?

TIA

What do I know? A lot. But it's all been posted in many threads before this one... Do a search. :)

BTW, the short of it is: go to www.airsoftextreme.com, buy a Marui starter kit and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Well, I would say do a search cuz we've had so many threads.
But the search sucks so thats pointless.

I buy my stuff from Redwolfairsoft.com
But for beginners I always recommend starting cheap and working up when you learn more.

shortyusa.com (my website :p) has some good cheap stuff.

What I've found out? It's only fun to get pelted repeatedly by them from close range when you're drunk. They sting when you're sober :(. *rubs his nipple, tenderly*

Start with a cheap spring gun. I recommend the UTG 870 collapsible stock shotgun.
Always wear a paintball mask to protect your eyes and teeth.
After that, commence firing!

DO not listen to him...
do not buy a crappy spring gun for anything..

you cant compete..

for Entry level stuff the very minimum id reccomend is the new gen CYMA AK-47 series..
decent gun very sturdy with a metal gearbox
and is strong enough to compete with even top notch guns and is repairable if it breaks.

other than that stay only with Tokyo Marui or Classic Army both are fantastic brands with very high quality parts

and DO NOT play on anywhere but a private property with eye protection.
these guns look REAL and people dont like seeing them in public or your back yards..
Police will get called..

Play in organzied sites like paintball and have fun safely
