airsoft rant

Rallispec

Lifer
Okay, i'm just really frustrated now, need to vent.

To make a long story short, i just spent 300 dollars on a new airsoft gun, thinking it would something different and fun to play around with - without having to waste money on paintballs and C02 all the time.---

all was well yesterday when my new ICS MP5 showed up at my door, but today the trigger locks up, and the gun won't fire (or making any noise at all for that matter) and when i take it apart to fix it i somehow blow the internal fuse.

afterputting it back together i bypass the fuse just to see if i get it working. Pull the trigger-- it starts firing. "great" i think to myself.

So i peice things together a little more, tighten up all the screws. (Fuse still missing) and once together i decide to fire off some test rounds to make sure it is working... i hear this slight hum, and then the unmistakeable odor of a burned out motor.

So, not only did i just waste 300 dollars of which could have gone to something worthwile, now i'm completely pissed and don't know what to do. I can try selling it on ebay for parts, Or find some replacement peices and get it working agian. Or just give up and toss it.

i just dont want to see it for the rest of night, so i'm going to bed.

well it was 300 including the battery and a ton of bb's,
here from airsoft arms. The owner seemed pretty knowlegable and recommended the new ICS's (the version 3's) and after i did some research foudn that the new ones have been getting good reviews, and came recommended from the airsoftohio forums.

hindsights always 20/20 though, looking back i'd get the tokyo mauri G36

dunno why you thought it was ok to run it without the fuse...

becuase taking the fuse out is actually listed as a modification you can pay to have done by some retailers--- Assuming that by removing the fuse, you take out that much resistance on the line and increase power or rate of fire by a fraction.

and i was only doing it for testing purposes, not even 5 consecutive shots. Again, looking back.. i should have found a new fuse. To late now though.

"enhanced upgrade package,
- PDI 190% or Systema spring
- Fuse removal (Reduce resistance)
- Unidirectional piston head
- Include installation"

Rallispec, i don't mean to sound arrogant, but ask me all your airsoft questions !!!

i freaking play every weekend, and i bleed airsoft!! 🙂

can you return that crap??

BTW, the TM G36c is one of the greatest guns ever freaking made. i have one that kicks sooooo much ass. ROF is so high it's like a laser beam of bb's. my teammates hvae g36c's...and everyone who buys one LOVES IT.

And I don't suppose you read the reviews. How about the instructions? Surely it didn't come with instructions that said "bah, you don't need a fuse!"

Don't listen to these people.

YOu can take out the fuse...but not recommended for newbies.

All my guns run w/o fuses. I just know what I'm doing tho.

you could have even bought a full metal TM MP5-A4 for $370 from my favorite retailer....www.airsoftextreme.com

or you could get a plastic one for $249!!

That would have blown away your ICS mp5!

the ICS was full metal.. Really on paper it seemed like a very nice gun. ANd like i said, the version 3's seemed to get decent reviews.

But yes, now i regret not getting a TM. especially the g36.

and as for the fuse-- i wasn't trying to go full auto with it or fire off a full clip-- i didnt even shoot 5 times without the fuse. i was jsut trying to test it to see if i was making progress or not. I knew it was dumb not to use a fuse.. but i figured what was the worst that could happen-- make a gun that doesnt work, work even less? (apperently it can)

anyhow, RUfio--

if i decide to ever get this gun working agian, or invest in a new gun--- i'll make sure you direct any questions i have over to you. Hopefully i can RMA this gun and get a new one and it won't die on me.

Rallispec, my first gun was the ICS mp5. full metal. looked great. i got a great deal on mine -- $200 for the gun and 2 hicap mags.

i sold it after a freaking month. it sucked so hard. i was lucky to have sold it when it was working.

my teammate purchased an ics mp5. it broke on him after 3 games. when i say broke, i mean BROKE IN HALF.

so ICS freaking sucks. if i can get my stupid main comp working, i wil send you a video of my g36c shooting. u will cry when u see it. 🙂

taking the fuse out for a second will not hurt the gun.....so don't worry.

return that crap. and get a better gun. just ask me! 🙂 heehehee

get that crap ass gun returned. if they don't take

Tokyo Marui is always a great, reliable choice IMO. Got myself an FN P90.

If I decide to get an Airsoft its definitely going to be a Tokyo Marui.
