Not much info

A single-engine airplane crashed Saturday at an air show in Martinsburg, West Virginia, a spokesman there said.
The T-28 military training aircraft crashed at the Thunder over the Blue Ridge air show, Lt. Nate Muellerof the 167th Airlift Wing said. He had no information on the circumstances of the crash or on injuries.
The aircraft was part of the Trojan Horsemen aircraft demo team, according to The Journal of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
The crash occurred during a stunt in which two T-28s were flying belly-to-belly, according to The Journal. The plane crashed in a fireball in front of hangars, The Journal reported.

Poor bastard.
We lost a guy at China Lake one year. Hit the mountain at Mach 2. Probably didnt even know what was happening.
23, new wife, all the saddest details typical in these stories.

This is the 2nd crash of a airshow pilot, hopefully a 3rd doesn't happen. 😱

Seems like air disasters come in 3's, at least it did during the 80's when major airliner type disasters seemed more frequent. Lets hope that is not the case with these airshow crashes, but we are coming to the end of airshow season too.

Uh Wow..

Watching the videos on youtube, it's almost more sickening than the other one. They just let the plane burn up...

They had no emergency response team.. It took a minute and a half for an emergency vehicle to arrive, while there were crews arriving within literally a few seconds at the Reno crash.... 😱

Sorry, I meant crashes in airshows for this week alone. 🙄

Ya....and it's been a pretty deadly month long span. Few weeks ago there were three different deadly accidents at three unrelated air shows in the same weekend. Creepiest one to me was the wingwalker. His schtick was climbing out of a bi-plane and grabbing onto the landing rail (or whatever it's called) of a helicopter flying above the plane. The chopper moved as he was grabbing on, and he fell 200 feet to his death, in front of the crowd. 🙁

Odd that there's been so many accidents this year.

I have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who dies as a wingwalker. Worst thing about that guy is the selfish dickhead left a wife and kid behind.

What the heck was he trying to do? That maneuver appeared to be doomed to failure. Not I don't know jack about flying/aircraft, but I can't see how that could have ended any other way.

It's a common stunt at airshows to fall "uncontrollably" then pull yourself out of it "at the last second"...

He failed to pull himself out of it for some reason....

I heard about this yesterday in Nightline. Really sad to hear. The pilot was apparently very experienced though.
