Airport Photography

On my upcoming trip to Japan in October, I would ideally like to take some pictures of the airport terminals as well. However, I'm wondering what policies might be related to this due to all the security crap in recent years. I've looked around online, but I haven't really been able to find anything definitive. As much as I'd like to get some nice shots, I don't really have any desire to be harassed by security, either. 🙂

Does anyone have any experience with situations like this?

The airports I'll be traveling through are Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and Tokyo Narita (NRT), if that makes any difference.

I got detained and frisked one night for taking photos of the AEP building in downtown Columbus, but that was at 2am... and the country was in an "Orange" security level.

The law says it is allowed, but be prepared to be harrassed by security.

Maybe go in and declare your intentions to security at the airport before walking around with a camera in your hands? That's what I'd do - but then again, I look the part of the bad guy. 🙁

You can expect to get pulled aside for a cavity search, because only terrorists take pictures at airports.
