I have a 20 inch imac, made in 2006. all worked well, until now.
I installed leopard last month, my imac started losing signals, in that time i have bought 5 routers thinking it may be a router issue.

But i notice just now, like 20 drops in the amount of 2 1/2 hours.
Airport drop's the signal. I messed around with all settings, even
trying to figure out interference, to no avail. any suggestions ?

Are you using wireless N on the router? Many people have had a problem with that on 10.5.2

Did the new update correct some issues with this?

Are we talking that it's been happening since Leopard, or happening since the update? Bummer if the problem got worse for some people.

Since the update. It was working fine for people pre 10.5.2

i thought my old router was on the verge of breaking down. jeeeesus . . . . does anyone have a link
to this problem, where its documented by apple. btw, apple is fking up man.

So, when, if at all, will there be another update from apple to fix this? or
are they even aware of this issue ?

Try to update your router firmware if you haven't done so already. I'm not saying wireless will work after updating but it doesn't hurt to try

I'm having strange Wireless issues on my new Macbook. Its paired to a Buffalo running DD-WRT.

Randomly, sometimes many times an hour, the Macbook acts as if its disconnected (statusbar in Firefox shows... "Looking up <sitename", the telltale sign you are disconnected). Whats strange is that the Wireless Signal in the menubar always shows a full signal and connected, it dosen't show me actually dropping the connection.

I dunno what the issue is, but its getting annoying.

I know this isn't the ideal solution, but if the problem is N, try disabling N on your router and connecting to over G. Unless you're streaming hi def video, N isn't really necessary anyway.

I have an older macbook pro (well, about 1.5 yrs old) and have a buffalo g router.
the MBP keeps dropping the wifi connection 1 out of 3 times when it 'wakes' up (i usually do not shut down the mbp, just close the lid and put it to sleep).
i'm very sure it's not the router bcoz i also have a dell laptop which works fine.
i have not updated the s/w in the mbp to n (the one where you have to pay $1.99 for the s/w)
will this make any difference?

i was also thinking of buying the 500gb time capsule but have decided to apply the $$$ towards pre-paying my mortgage.....yuck!
