Airport Extreme

I've seen other Airport threads here and this is mine ? It's more an annoyance than a real problem but hopefully other users can tell me if they experienced this too or not. Our household uses Apple because "it just works" so I want to get rid of this flaw if possible.

Since I've changed the encryption on our Airport Extreme base station from WEP to WPA/WPA2, all clients have ceased to automatically connect to the WLAN after standby or booting up. I have to manually select our WLAN from the menu bar's airport icon to reconnect them.

All of our Macs are affected:
- Powerbook G3 / OS X 10.4 / 802.11b / WPA
- iBook G4 / OS X 10.4 / 802.11g / WPA2
- Macbook / OS X 10.5 / 802.11g / WPA2

The Macs recieve their IP by DHCP lease, and there is no priority conflict in the preferred WLAN list of the system preferences. Have I overlooked something or is there no solution? 🙁

It's probably a conflict with the keys that are being used. Trying going into your Keychain and removing the WEP, and WPA, password for that base station, then restart and let it connect again, and enter your credentials.

This worked for me when I was having a conflict with my work's network.
