Airport Extreme and Copy Speeds

I just got an Airport Extreme this past weekend, and got it setup with dual bands (G for my Xbox, Wii, etc... and N for my wife's Macbook and my Macbook Pro). I'm getting around 3.5 MB/sec over the N network when I backup with SuperDuper!

So I'm curious if this is a normal speed for copying over WiFi. I googled a little bit but didn't find a whole lot of information.

Thanks.

3.5MB/s? Well, that works out to about 28Mb/s about half of G speeds which is to my understanding about the bets you can get on a G router, and since you have it in dual band mode, it really only works at G speed

I guess I should clarify..

I have it setup running N speed (5Ghz spectrum) with my MB and MBP, and then I have a Linksys WRT54G (hacked firmware) running ethernet to ethernet for all of my G devices and below.

But basically, I should be expecting higher speeds with a strictly N network? If so, I'll have to do some more troubleshooting and see why I'm not getting higher throughput.

Hmm.. I think I might have some interference, or something.. because I completely disconnected the Linksys and had the Airport Extreme running just on the 5Ghz N mode and I was still only getting 2-3MB/s with no other network traffic.

I'll have to do some more troubleshooting tonight.

I've gotten up to 5-6MB/sec with N only at 5GHz, so something is at work that isn't taking you up as high as it could.

I get 10.1MB/s on my 5GHz AirPort Express connected to a gigabit switch.

This is copying an 8GB ISO via FTP from my MacBook Pro on 802.11n to my PC connected to the gigabit switch.

Thanks.. I figured I should be getting higher. Just not very good at all the networking technical junk. So I'm going to try to wade through stuff this week and see if I can't find a solution.
