AirPhones really isn't cutting it for me. I still get way too much static when I use it. I'm using the protected internet connection in my dormroom and it's still bad. Is there something like Remote, where instead of broadcasting what I'm playing I can just access my iPod and choose what I wany from my computer? I would just hook my computer up to my speakers but half the time when I want music I'm on it, so thats not really an option. If I could just control my iPod from my MBP... That would be heaven. Is there anything else?

Since AirPhones lets you listen to music that's on the mac via the iPhone, I'm assuming he wants to listen to the music that's on his iPhone via the Mac.

Now, I'm confused too. Why not just play the music on the mac while you're working on it? I'm assuming it has the iTunes library you sync from.

You'll need to jailbreak: (Veency runs in the background btw, no icon)

Jalaram's got it. Sorry if i was confusing. I COULD listen to the music through my MBP speakers, but why do that when I could listen to it on bigger and better ones :D? Airphones is alright, it just still gives me ton's of static. If I could just control my iPod from my Mac instead of streaming my Mac to my iPod, i'd be in heaven. Just like Remote gives you access to your MBP library, it'd be nice to be able to wirelessly access my iPod's Library from my Mac, ya dig?

I'm still confused. It looks like you're asking 2 different things:

1. You want to listen to music on better speakers than your Macbook has

2. You want to listen to the songs that are on your iPod, but not on your Macbook

What exactly are you trying to do here?

OK... I think what is going on here is that the iPhone is hooked up to a stereo that is apparently on the other side of the room from the laptop. Using Airphones to stream the music through the iPhone is not working since apparently there is interference going on. The OP would like to be able to remotely control the iPhone with his MacBook since the stereo is louder/better than his macbook's speakers.

The static could be from the EDGE/3G antenna, which can be turned off in settings. I know that my system gets interference whenever my phone is near it, if I don't turn the phone antennas off.

Sorry I'm sucking it getting across what I'm doing. TheStu is dead on with what I want. And it's on a Touch so there isn't the interference from the EDGE/3G. Anything out there like this?

I suppose you could always just buy a really long speaker cable.

How is the Touch connected to the stereo anyway? Or is it a dock?

I've got an audio out cable connected to the back of my dock and connected to my receiver. A really long cable would work in some instances, but I still really would like something else. I guess I'm just picky. Dammit.

I can't think of anything else, but I don't have anywhere close to the same situation. My primary system is actually a laptop, but I also have a desktop with a 2.1 speaker set, and they are, of course, at the same desk most of the time.
