I have some money, and although Christmas is coming up, I want to blow it on something.
It's not a huge amount, but I expect it woul dbe enough for a model airoplane, or a 3000+ AMD-64 and motherboard (my other possible option).
I don't know how worthwhile it would be to get one though.
(17yo, live in the countryside-ish, no proper job, but some money each month as allowance).

I think it might be kinda cool, but then if I get bored (and I expect I might), then I will have wasted a load of money :(

Any experiences of how much fun they are?

If you are doing it all by yourself it will probably become boring fairly soon. If you belong to a club it would be more fun, not to mention it would get you out of the house. Check hobby shops that specialize in radio controlled etc. for clubs in your area.

If you want a fun R/C toy, go with an HPI Savage I got one last March and damn, probably the best toy I have ever owned.
