Down to $20 for this 54g router. It's been around for a while, but I figure some people probably haven't seen this. Has anyone taken the plunge on this? I've never found any reliable reviews.

Linky!

Edit:
My mistake. These USED to be refurbs, but it no longer says reburb.

Where does it say refurbed?

And, FWIH, these use the same basic components as D-Link. It's a good price. Been that price at Fry's B&M a lot lately.

$20 seems cheap, but nothigns more frustrating than having a POS router that screws up your connection intermittently.

I'd rather spend the extra 10-20 (i can't believe i said this) and get something that's reliable.

I was mistaken. These used to be refurbs, there is no mention of it anymore... They very well may be new.

I bought one on black friday for $17.99 and returned it within 2 weeks. Lan kept on dropping on a daily basis like 10 times a day. The worst router ever built and sold by Fry's

Do yourself a favor and avoid this one. Got the Linksys 54G and those daily problems ended as soon as i installed the Linksys.

I would not recommend anyone getting this router...I use 1 as an access point and this thing will intermittently disconnect for a second and reconnect.. wait for the Airlink AR411W to go on sale..it's a better router...

I would stay away from that.

I bought an airlink wireless g pci desktop card. Absolute crap. My xp3000 and 1 gb ram was so lagged the mouse was jumping whenever i moved it. I took it out and everything was fine again.

Hmmm... Bummer. I was hoping to get by with this until the "N" standard came down in price....

If you dont mind best buy rebates then these might work for you.

Currently, best buy has the dlink 524 wireless g router for $49.99 with a $20 rebate. I have the router and it has worked pretty good so far(8 months of use). There was a bug in the newest firmware, but it hasnt caused me problems.

Also, i replaced that airlink pci card with a dlink one and it has worked okay. No dropped connections yet in 3 days of use. Its also $49.99 with $30 in rebates.

I went ahead and bought one (a week ago) cuz it's hard to find a cheap router that can also be an access pt... although now i'm afraid this thing is gonna suck but only time will tell

keeping my fingers crossed

they're new and they're crap. get the 108g models for like 27.99 as they have atheros chipsets (VERY reliable, same chipset netgear uses)

I hear more bad things than good on Dlink components. I agree, spend a few extra $ and get a netgear.

Linksys is the only brand I recommend any more. The Cisco logo is reassuring....much more reassuring than an Indian accent from a guy named "Greg".

Yeap i agree with that too... im very happy with my Linksys 54G router too.
The only thing that works pretty good from Airlink is their 7db antennas which i use with my WRT54G and im able to receive a good signal in my tri-level home.

I have the D-Link 614 802.11b series wireless router and it has worked great for me. It was rated rather highly by PCWorld mag at the time. It has never dropped a signal once. Can't speak for Airlink though.....

I recently built a system for a friend and set him up with a D-Link DI-624 router (108 Mbps) and a D-Link DWL-G520 PCI adapter card (108 Mbps). Works really good and stable. Both were about $40 each.
