I have recently purchased this router from Frys for 17 bucks. this is my first router, so i have nothing to compare it against.

it worked well for a week, then the internet stopped working on my main machine and networked machine one day. I had made no changes. I was, after resetting the router several times, and reconfiguring it once, and checking my modem connections, etc. able to get it to work again. Though I suspect it may have been a fault on my initial setup. I think initially, I set it up with as a static IP config, even thought it is cable and is dynamic ip. That may explain why it worked for a week and then quit on me, maybe the ip changed...

But my question is, is this normal? I have about 10 days more to return it if I really need to. I like the price, but if this is sympatmatic of a really crappy router, i probably am not interested. Other than that, when it is connected, i am satisfied. I get a 54mbps connection on my laptop while i am on the first floor of my house, and the router is on located on the second. I don't think i have had any dropped packets or any problem once it is connected. It is fast too, but again i don't know if these are all no big deal.

Has anyone had any experience with this. Hopefully someone (who has more experience in this wifi stuff) can suggest me if i should continue to use it and keep it or go for something else. I don't want to spend more than about 50 bucks on a router though.

Also, would you suggest this for a basic small business setup?

Thanks in advance.

$17 is Not Cheap. Many Brand Name Wireless can be found on sale for $19.99.

Since you misconfigured your connection to begin with your question is sort of an Oxymoron.

Airlink+ is not a bad product. I have Airlink+ card. I am happy with it. I am not a wealth.
