The router gets a very good rating from what I have found. Should I get this and try to mate it with my current US Robotics wireless card in my laptop? ...or is going with Airlink for both ends the best option?

Oh, it does no appear to have an antenna. Is it an option or internal?

Also any personal experiences more than welcome.

Thanks for any and all replies.

The Airlink is a Mystery to me.

It sold as the discount line By Outpost (Fry) and the Yahoo type vendors.

It is "Dirt Cheap", and yet there it is Not popular, and No independent 3rd party reviews can be found.

Given that, credible devices are not much more expensive I would take the risk only if there is a very liberal return policy by the vendor, Otherwise, just paying for back and forth shipment, and re-stoking fees can end up wasting $20.

An inexpensive and very good Wireless Router at the moment is this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833162173

A MIMO router by Zyxel is on sale for $9.99 AR at CompUSA if you're interested.

Here is where I seen a report on it ..

Seemed to be way and above the rest (check out the conclusions) - so I am somewhat surprised with these responses.
Thanks

What about the question of using ANY new router with my current laptop wireless card (USR)?
Thanks for the help.

The way the Pabst's site conducts the Routers evaluation is rather meaningless to most regular End-Users. An average user with his 3-6Mb/sec. Internet connection and 2-4 computers would experience differences within their reported numbers.

None Regular End-Users, and other technologically advanced users do not buy these thingies to begin with.

A standard 802.11g card would work with any Standard 802.11g Router.

I may not be average - don't know.

I have a single PC and a laptop. One of the primary reasons that I use a router is that it gives me an extra web address and with that - I forgo Zone Alarm or a XP firewall.
I know that many will give me flak on this - but I have no probs with viruses or malware with this setup.

That said, I am always open to a better product - for my needs, that is. I have found that the in-expensive USR unit has served me well for about 3 years- but is getting problematic.

Is there a better router - build wise - that I might look at - for say - under 50.00? May not exist - from what you have indicated.
