I'm wondering if I found a box and reinforced it so it could hold me, punched holes in it for ventilation and got a sizable food supply of granola and water... Could I ship myself cross-country for under $50?

I weigh 220 pounds and am 6'4". I could use meditation techniques to keep myself from going crazy in the box while being shipped... Would this work?

That's one of the reasons I asked.... I don't want to get in trouble or hold the company responsible if I get shipped to the wrong place or lost in the mail...

I question whether you could ship 220 pounds for 50 dollars... a monitor costs like 40 dollars to ship, and the box would have to be pretty big probably 4x4x7 or something.

Well looks like standard UPS is out...150lbs max weight. You will have to go with a freight option which will take a lot longer.

Okay....even a 150lb package via UPS across the country would be $115, 3 day would cost $300.

And you had better hope that they don't put a hilo through the box, as UPS is known to do ;)

you might have more success if you strap yourself to a wooden pallate.
Though by the time you get there... your really gonna have to poop.

the difference is, even on economy class, you don't get punted.

if you drive a bit on both ends, you can find cheap air routes to get almost anywhere

if you want the convienance of flying out of the airport closest to you and flying into your final destination, then you might have to pay more, your choice

I've worked in a UPS hub, and I don't think you would survive the trip.
Besides that, it is aginst the rules to ship anything living, and they have the right to open any box to inspect the contents.

UPS - "Who's in there!?"
Scarpozzi - "No one!"
UPS - "Phew, OK, for a second I thought you were alive."

Two things.

1. It will cost you more to ship yourself via UPS.
2. When they ship cargo, you better hope the plane they put you in is pressurized.
