you guys are all right. they should have camped there 1 day ahead of time just to be on the safe side. Let's just accept the horrible wait time imposed on the flying public instead of trying to get the airlines/security to be more effecient.

Certain items like batteries have always been banned on airplanes, even pre 9/11. It's just some ignorant people at NW airlink.

"One of the things we want to learn from this is, how do we make sure this never happens again?" Manalan said. "We had teams from all over the U.S., and countries like Singapore, South Korea, Israel and Canada, and they all flew to the contest with their robots without any problems."

The college students arrived slightly more than an hour before the flight was scheduled to depart.
This shouldn't even be a news story. The college and professor are clearly at fault. Who arrives only an hour before a flight when they know something serious has to be done like an inspection? An hour is by no means early for a flight, especially in this situation.

In other news, lighters are now banned on flights but at least you can carry up to 4 matchbooks!
